I left it way too late to start learning how to drive or so I had thought for years. I was finally embarrassed into it by friends at the ripe old age of 34 so I bit the bullet, went on-line to find a local instructor and sent off a few emails. I received a very prompt and very courteous voicemail from Richard and so I decided to book my first lesson. I was absolutely terrified to get behind the wheel and I won’t lie, Richard did force me out of my comfort zone very early on which he knew was what I needed. He is incredibly patient and I never once felt like he was frustrated with me even though I incompetently refused to brake properly for weeks on end. Richard has teaching down to a fine art and is very experienced in dealing with all types of learners young and not so young, confident and not so confident. He has certainly learned all the tricks of the trade and will give you honest feedback on where your weaknesses are which is really the only way to learn if you ask me. Once I passed my test I went on a motorway lesson with Richard. I was nervous about going over 50 miles per hour for the first time and was terrified at the thought of changing lanes. I was delighted I decided to do this extra lesson as it really gave me the confidence I needed, not only to reaffirm my driving ability off the motorway but also to learn how the motorway works. Driving at 70 miles per hour, on the motorway, for the first time, at 34 years of age? Dual control? YES PLEASE.

After a friend of mine gave me Richard's details I didn't look back, as him and his brother had nothing but praise for his methods and abilities! When I finally got around to learning to drive Richard's whole approach allowed me to make steady progress, on each core skill before moving onto the next one. His clear instructions and easy to talk to personality allowed me to ask questions whenever I had any. When it came towards my test date, Richard was not shy about telling me where I needed to concentrate hardest on, and thankfully I was able to complete my weakest manoeuvre without to much hassle during my test itself. I would highly recommend Freedom School of Motoring

Richards a great instructor, he's easy to get along with so I felt relaxed and confident behind the wheel. Very reliable and flexible with the lessons and was never late even when I changed the meeting place last minute. His teaching style was very effective, he's calm, patient and gave me very useful tips which allowed me to develop my skills above the standards needed to pass. I passed first time with only three minors and I owe it all to him.

Learning to drive with Freedom school of motoring was the best experience l have ever had. After several experiences with different instructors l really thought l will never ever drive in my life as it all seemed to never move forward but kept paying and paying. Richard was the best instructor l had, he demonstrated patience, understanding professionalism, very reliable and most of all taught a novice like me to be an expert and first time pass. Thank you, thank you, thank you Freedom school of motoring and my great instructor Richard you simply are the best.
